This dog park is in Golden, sneakily hidden behind some baseball fields in the Tony Grampsas Memorial Sports Complex. Just park in the main parking lot and follow the sidewalk North like it’s your yellow brick road till you get to the entrance right next to the back baseball field.
The park is two and a half acres of trees, bushes, hilly, naturey goodness. It’s not the biggest of parks I’ve been to but where it lacks in size it makes up in landscaping. You feel like you’re in a forest!
It has a small stream during the summer (it’s dried up during the winter) and it may have more water depending how much precipitation we’ve been getting. It can get pretty muddy so I would mentally prepare for giving your pup a bath afterwards and putting a towel down in your car.
Despite the fact it’s sorta hidden, it’s normally a pretty poppin’ place. That being said I haven’t seen it overly crowded, but it does attract a good amount of pups and people for your dog to play with. It’s the perfect ratio of friends and dog friends to be made without it being overwhelming.
The dogs all seem to really love it and that’s really the main focus. It’s a good chance for them to unleash their inner wolf and roam through the forest… a smaller, forest but a forest nonetheless.
I don’t have too much to say about this park other than it’s a pretty great little find that I’m sure your pup will enjoy.
