The Search Dog Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to you guessed it… Search and rescue. More specifically, disaster search and rescue.
To brief it, here’s how they work… They rescue dogs and submit them into their search and rescue dog-training course. Once they complete their training they are given to fire fighters or any other emergency service agencies in need of a rescue dog for the low, low price of $free.99 (free for those of you who aren’t familiar with that phrase.) Last step, apply their search and rescue skills to the field and save lives across the world when disaster strikes.
If for any reason one of the dogs they rescue should be incapable of completing their training to the required standards, SDF will personally find the pup a new home. Whether that’s finding them a new job more suiting of their personality or becoming a pet in a Lifetime Care Home. Which is just a loving new forever home wiling to provide the dog with a happy, safe environment. SDF even stays in in touch with the family to make sure the dog is living a happy life. Here’s the application to becoming a Lifetime Care Family.
Like I said before, they are non-profit and non governmental which means they don’t take any of our tax money. They run completely on donations so it’s people like you that make a difference. Cheesy, but true.
They really speak for themselves so I ask you to take a peak at their site and maybe even throw some spare change their way.
