![]() The Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness with Camera Mount Review
I got this harness to use for the blog so y’all could see our adventures from the dog’s point of view. However I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see your own adventures from your pup’s perspective. This harness works for any action camera but I happen to use it for the GoPro Hero3 White Edition. The harness comes with two plates you can attach your camera mount to one on the chest and one on the back. The chest plate is curved and the back plate is flat to mimic the dog’s body. Each plate has padding underneath to give your pup read more... |
![]() Ruff Weather Dog Door Review
If you don’t have a dog door let me summarize your day along with your dog’s thought process. Your dog, “let me out I gotta pee! Now let me back in. But wait now I think the neighbor dog is outside, let me back out! Never mind, neighbor dog doesn’t want to talk. I’ll just come back in now. But wait now I smell a smell from outside! Let me out I gotta smell it! Just kidding, I was just smelling the neighbor dog again, I’ll come back in.” You, *gets up to let dot out, sits back down only to have to let dog back in* all day on repeat. I promise you my friend, a dog door is the best read more... |
![]() Dog Whisperer by Cesar Millan Harness, Leash, and Collar
I got this line of leashes, harnesses, and collars by Cesar Millan over two years ago when I got Laverne and I’m still using them and going strong. Initially I honestly bought them for the sole reason of they looked nice, they were pretty and they where by the Dog Whisperer. Who doesn’t love the Doge Whisperer? I didn’t think twice about price, I just read more... ![]() GoPro Fetch Dog Harness
One of the first reviews I did was for the Kurgo harness with a camera mount. Well since then I’ve invested in another camera harness and I thought a comparison review would prove helpful for y’all. This new harness is actually made by GoPro, and since I need a harness for a GoPro it only felt appropriate I give it a go…pro. Ha. I couldn’t resist. I have very much a love hate relationship with this harness. When actually using it I sometimes want to set it on fire. But then when I see the footage I’m read more... ![]() Glucosamine, For The Achy Pup
Can you ever tell the weather is changing? Not from your psychic powers but rather maybe your body feels stiff or achy. Dogs can be the same way. Particularly if they have arthritis or hip dysplasia or any other joint or bone issue. And now it’s fall, which means tis’ the season for aching bodies. Laverne has got an issue with the joints in her back. I initially thought her hips were what was hurting her because she would gimp on her back legs at night on occasion and she would sometimes be weird about people touching them. But when we brought her to Four Paws, our vet, she said the issue is actually in her back which can then make her read more... ![]() Pet Head Deodorizing Spray
My dogs have the unfortunate reputation of being stinky. I swear it’s not because I’m the worst owner who doesn’t bathe them but rather because their type of fur tends to do that. I have a broken nose which means the ole’ sniffer doesn’t exactly pick up too many smells, although recently even I could smell them. Which says a lot. So it was time to intervene. But before I gave them a bath I felt this was prime time to give the Pet Head Deodorizing Spray I had lying around a solid test. And that’s what brings us here. The Pet Dead brand is by the well-known people hair brand, Bed Head. You have to appreciate how clever those twist on words are. The spray is the, “Poof! Yummy Orange Magical Deodorizing Spray” and it’s quiet simple to use. No really, you just read more... ![]() Merrick's Canned Dog Food
We have used the same dog food for our dogs for as long as I can remember, Iams Proactive Health. But recently we’ve mixed things up and started adding a little bit of Merrick’s canned food and I never thought someone could be so excited about canned food, but I am. We started it because Petie has been starting to look a little… overly nourished if you catch where I’m going with that. In the past I would give the pups their food and they would kind of just graze during the day instead of eating their food in one sitting and everything was hunky dory. They both ate the appropriate amount of food in the end and they maintained a healthy weight but recently Petie started over indulging and sneaking food from Laverne’s bowl so it was time I stepped in. I needed to cut back Petie’s food so read more... |
![]() Collapsible Dog Bowl
My collapsible dog bowl is easily one of the best things I’ve ever purchased for my dogs. I bring it on every adventure we go on and use it for water (although you can use it for food too which would be convenient for camping.) It’s ideal for walks and hikes and what not as it’s small and compact when its collapsed so it fits nicely in your backpack. It also has a carabiner (most at the very least have a place you could hook one too if it doesn’t already come with one) and I clip it on their leash or my backpack. It’s perfection. In the past I would just bring them their own water bottle with a wide mouth so they could read more... ![]() Pet Safe Easy Walk Dog Harness
Currently, I have Laverne enrolled at the Petsmart training classes and one of the lessons is loose leash walking. The harness they recommend using as a tool if your dog is troublesome in this department is the Pet Safe Easy Walk Dog Harness. The harness has a very awkward set up, but it’s designed this way for a purpose. It’s sort of kinda a step in harness of sorts but the hook you attach the leash to is in the middle of their chest. Strange, I know. But the reasoning is so that when your dog pulls too hard it pulls them back and to the side, almost like they’re being forced to turn around. This makes it feel awkward for them to pull and causes read more... ![]() Vetscription Medi-Wraps
As a dog sitter I’ve found quite a few owners give their pets pills. Whether it be prescriptions, vitamins, or supplements, I’ve had my fair share of distributing pills. Some dogs will just eat them with their regular food but some need to be sneaked them in pill pockets. If you’re one of those people I have just the thing NOT to use. The Vetscription Medi-Wraps. To put it simple, they are crap. They aren’t even pockets. They’re like weird crumbly slabs of mystery dog treat that they expect you to wrap/fold around your dog’s pill. But as soon as you fold the, “slab” of treat around the pill, it starts to crumble and fall apart. You have to act fast and try to use the warmth and pressure of your hand to get it to half-assedly mold around the pill and pray it doesn’t read more... ![]() Biosilk For Dogs Whitening Shampoo
If you don’t have a dog with white fur you probably won’t get anything out of this article. So just this once I give you permission from reading one of my articles. Every time I see another Bichon that’s not Petie I immediately notice how white and well groomed their fur is. Petie is never that well manicured and fresh looking and I don’t freaking get it. It’s not like I don’t bathe her or brush her. Yet despite my attempts at making her look like she actually has owners that give a damn about her, her fur still always looks wirey yellowey and just plane crazy like she was just found off the streets. Maybe it’s because she was the runt of the litter or maybe it’s simply because although she is a froofy breed she’s not a froofy dog. She goes on hikes and loves read more... |
