Step one of course was going to one of my favorite places… Hobby Lobby! Yay for arts and crafts and a whole bunch of other crap I don’t need. I was concerned about staining my puppies so I hunted down the nearest employee and explained the plan. She felt that just your generic acrylic craft paint should do the trick and wash out. So me being the trusting person I am, that’s what I went with.
We set ourselves up in the backyard and didn’t put any tarps down since the lady said it was washable… Plus we just like to live on the wild side.
So next we cracked out the treats and that at least got them back on your side of the yard. So I once again dipped their paws in the paint but this time I we held a treat on the other side of the canvas so they’d walk over it. No again. They actually leapt over it in avoidance. *Insert severely unamused face. *
Even with our new found method Laverne was still NOT having it and managed to squirm away. So the majority of the paw prints on there are miss Petunia’s. It was a challenge but a festive little project nonetheless and we got two cute paintings out of it.
As you can probably put together the struggle of this little experiment was so very real. But it was also so much fun! I vote you all try it too and send me pictures of how yours turned out and I’ll post them here and on social media and what not. I want to see others!
