Initially I honestly bought them for the sole reason of they looked nice, they were pretty and they where by the Dog Whisperer. Who doesn’t love the Dog Whisperer?
I didn’t think twice about price, I just went for it. At the time I had a part time job at Old Navy, had no bills so I’d just buy what wanted. I was basically a high roller back then, no biggie. * sarcasm * Then I became an adult and now have to think twice before I buy Starbucks. *sigh...* Funny how things can change is a short two years.
As it turned out they where pretty expensive in comparison to the other collars, leashes and harnesses on the market. As it was two years ago I’m not completely confident in what the pricing was but this is what his new similar line runs at. (I actually think the new line is every so slightly less expensive which makes me cringe…)
The collar is about $10, the harness is about $20 and the leash is around $22. So not exactly an arm and leg but still on the higher end in comparison to others. The prices vary around sizes.
Although I probably wouldn’t spend that much now, I’m glad I have them and would probably get them in the future if I could afford such luxuries. This, with the exception of the collar. The collar has a few little spots that have a some snags. It’s not a big deal but I’m just too neutral about it to feel the need to purchase another.
They are all made of a soft and comfortable woven nylon and I’m quite fond of the blue and red crisscross pattern (more colors are available.) The harness and collar are soft and flexible and feel as though they’ve been broken in already right when you buy it, making them comfortable for the dog.
The harness is a step in and it has easy to use adjusters to adjust the size, and a metal ring at the top to connect the leash to. I got a medium the harness and collar for Laverne (she weighs in the 40pound zone.)
The leash has the same look and material but it’s woven to be a thicker, sturdier, and stiffer (almost awkwardly stiff but not enough to raise concern) and it’s in sort of a cylinder type shape. It’s 48” long making it on the shorter side. I like this because it’s long enough for Laverne to be capable of sniffing around and what not on adventures but short enough that she knows she needs to stay close. It’s a great leash for training.
It’s got a super padded handle for the humans making it a comfortable grip. I imagine it’d be convenient for those with pullers for dogs. Lastly it’s got a key fob on it so you can bring your keys with you on your adventures which can be a life saver at times. I use it to attach my potty bags to it with a carabiner as well forcing me to never forget them.
If its something you can afford I would definitely recommend these. Petco doesn’t sell this exact line anymore but they do still sell a Cesar Millan line that appears to be essentially the same.
Apparently they are only sold in stores. I searched all over their sight for what felt like forever just to find that it’s not on their sight at all. Not even just for information. For that matter I can’t find anything on his newer line anywhere on the Internet. I’m not thrilled about it. Get it together Petco.
I've also seen some harnesses and collars from the exact line I use on Amazon but those are few and far between.
If you can’t afford these but like the idea there are leashes (I haven’t noticed similar collars or harnesses yet) that seem to have a similar design that I’ve seen at Petco and Target.
Guys, I found the new Cesar Millan line on Petco.com!!
