We headed west and were planning on getting to Prospect Park. As you walk along you hit a fork in the road and you see a sign that says Clear Creek Trail with an arrow pointing left. So me, being a sheep, I followed instructions and went left. We crossed a bridge with some kids sitting in a pow wow formation hogging up a good two thirds of the path so that was fun, then it spit us out into a neighborhood. Awkward. Confused, we
Next we continued on the trail and it lead us to where you cross under Kipling St. It was flooded.
The trail was nice and flat making it an easy stroll. It obviously (given the name) runs along Clear Creek and where there is water there is greenery. It was particularly green from all the rain we’d been getting prior. Although all that rain also meant for the river to be decently high so be weary of that if your circumstances are the same.
The sun to shade ratio was perfect, enough sun for some vitamin D while still enough shade you and the pups don’t roast. I know Laverne and her dark thick coat appreciated that.
It was fairly busy for a weekday; we probably passed six or seven people including quite a few bicyclists. So weekends might be a tad insane. It’s also right adjacent Everette Middle School, which might explain where the bridge hogging teens came from. I wouldn’t let that scare you away though; it’s still a nice stroll.
With how wide of a span this trail covers there’s a good chance part of it is near you and if it’s anything like the Wheat Ridge chunk it’s worth giving it a go, I know my pups and I were quite content.
